A small group of journalism students enrolled in the spring 2026 Storytelling for Today’s Media class made a long-term dream come to fruition.
The students included staff members of the NWACC Eagle View, and they were able to apply studies about podcasting and storytelling in multiple formats to the new endeavor of establishing a regular podcast, said Debbie Miller, instructor for the storytelling class and adviser for the NWACC Eagle View. Students developed the name for the podcast, Eagle’s Nest, and crafted the explanatory statement that will accompany each episode. The short statement notes, “The Eagle’s Nest podcast is associated with the NWACC Eagle View and is focused on uplifting student and community voices.”
Aneyda Reynaga, a student in the class and managing editor for the NWACC Eagle View during the spring semester, produced the first episode titled “Food for Thought.” The podcast episode is about the lack of food options at NWACC and mentions the lack of accessibility as well, Reynaga explained.
An episode by student Maebre Peal will also be posted in the upcoming weeks.
The episodes are being shared to Spotify and to the Eagle View’s YouTube channel, @nwacceagleview1464.
